Wordtryst Editorial Services is operated by Charmaine Rousseau, an author, editor, reviewer and former high school English teacher. She was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize in 2014, longlisted for the Commonwealth Writers Small Islands anthology in 2016, and longlisted for the Brooklyn Caribbean Literary Festival Award (BCLF Elizabeth Nunez Awards) in 2022. Her short stories have been published in The Caribbean Writer and St. Somewhere Literary Journal.
Ms. Rousseau has published more than 50 fiction titles in various genres. Her debut novel Cafe au Lait (Dorchester Publishing New York, 2008; Montlake Romance, 2013), written as Liane Spicer, twice became a Kindle UK Top 100 bestseller (in 2013 and 2015). She has been editing professionally since 2004 when she did a stint as a newspaper editor.
With 16 years of experience as a traditionally published author and 10 years as an independent publisher, Ms. Rousseau brings a wealth of experience in the global publishing arena to her work. Following the digital revolution of the 2000s, authors now have a multiplicity of options for traditional publishing, independent publishing, or for adopting a hybrid of the two, as she has.
Ms. Rousseau holds a BA (First Class Honours) in Literatures in English from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. She is a past judge of the National Essay Writing Competition organized by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT). Susan Schulman Literary Agency (The English Patient, Holes, The Artist's Way) is her literary representative in the USA.
